Frequently Asked Questions

A green underline.

Do you have a question? Feel free to give us a call and also take a look at some of our most frequently asked questions.

  • What is Carelon and how does it relate to my BCBS plan?

Carelon Behavioral Health is the mental health benefits administrator for many Blue Cross Blue Shield of Colorado plans. If your behavioral health benefits are managed through Carelon, CCT is in-network with that network. Our intake team can help clarify this when verifying your benefits.

  • Does BCBS cover telehealth mental health visits in Colorado?

Most BCBS plans cover telehealth for outpatient behavioral health services. Log into bcbsco.com or call member services to confirm your specific plan's telehealth benefits.

  • Do I need a referral to get started at CCT?

It depends on your plan type. PPO members typically don't need one. HMO and BlueSelect members should check with member services before scheduling.

  • Can I do medication management without therapy?

Yes. Medication management is a standalone service at CCT. Your PMHNP may suggest adding therapy at some point, but it is not a condition of starting care.

  • What if I've had trouble finding an in-network BCBS provider before?

Mental health provider shortages are a real issue in Colorado. CCT maintains in-network status with BCBS and Carelon and has providers available for new patients. Reach out and our intake team will find the right fit as quickly as possible.
