Understanding How You Experience the World

A green underline.

Autism looks different from person to person. For some, it shows up as a strong need for routine and predictability. For others, it's sensory overload in loud or busy places, social situations that take a lot of energy, or deep focus on specific interests. Many adults spend years feeling different without a clear explanation, and many parents notice early on that their child experiences the world in their own way.

At Calm Clarity Therapy, we take a neurodiversity-affirming approach to autism in Denver, Lakewood, and across Colorado by telehealth. We don't see autism as something to fix. Our focus is on understanding how you or your child experience daily life, and building support around both strengths and challenges.

Integrated Care for Autism

Support for autism often works best when it's coordinated. Our practice brings evaluation, therapy, and medication management together in one place.

  • Autism Testing: Dr. Anisha Bagga, PsyD, a licensed psychologist, provides autism evaluations for children, teens, and adults ages 5 and up. Evaluations for children and teens take place in person at our Denver office.
  • Individual & Family Therapy: Our therapists work with autistic children, teens, and adults on what matters to them, such as emotional regulation, sensory overwhelm, relationships, and changes in routine. For children, parents are part of the process through regular check-ins.
  • Medication Management: Autism itself isn't something medication addresses. Many autistic people also experience anxiety, attention challenges, low mood, or trouble with sleep, and our PMHNP-BC providers can talk through whether medication may be a helpful additional layer of support for those experiences.

Areas We Support

A green underline.
  • Adult and late identification: Making sense of a new diagnosis, or a long-held sense that autism might explain your experience.
  • Co-occurring ADHD and anxiety: Many people navigate more than one of these at once, and care can address them together.
  • Burnout and masking: Many autistic people describe deep exhaustion after long periods of adapting to what others expect. Therapy offers space to slow down and find what's sustainable.
  • School and family life: Partnering with parents on routines, transitions, and communication at home and at school.

Common Questions

A green underline.
  • Do I need an autism diagnosis to start therapy?

No. You don't need a diagnosis to start therapy with us. If you're wondering about autism, a therapist can work with you while you decide whether an evaluation makes sense.

  • Do you offer autism testing for adults?

Yes. Dr. Bagga provides autism evaluations for adults as well as children and teens. Some parts of adult evaluations may be available by telehealth. Psychological testing is currently self-pay while we complete insurance credentialing. Learn more on our Psychological Testing page.

  • How do you work with autistic children?

We meet children where they are, often using play-based and creative approaches, such as play therapy and non-directive art therapy, that don't depend on sitting and talking. Parents are involved through regular check-ins, so support carries over to home and school.

  • Is autism support covered by insurance?

Therapy and medication management are in-network with most major insurance plans. Autism testing is self-pay for now, and our intake team can walk you through costs before you schedule.
